Queenstown man Basil Walker's legal challenge to the Otago Regional Council's funding for the Forsyth Barr Stadium began in the High Court in Dunedin this morning.
Mr Walker, who is seeking a judicial review of the funding decision, is representing himself in the hearing before Justice Lang.
Alastair Logan is the counsel for the ORC.
The hearing started with Mr Walker giving his submission and the judge has frequently interjected with questions.
Mr Walker is seeking to stop the ORC contributing $37.5m towards the construction of the $198 million stadium.
