Snow showers are possible on Dunedin's hills this weekend, MetService says.
A front is expected to move over the country today and behind it a cold, showery, southwest flow should spread over the South Island.
It is predicted to bring snow showers to low levels in Southland and Clutha, with a low risk of snow accumulating to warning amounts over the hills of Clutha later tomorrow and Sunday.
In Dunedin, late snow is expected on the hills tomorrow accompanied by a southwest change, although the temperature is predicted to reach a high of 17degC. On Sunday, sleety showers with strong southwesterlies are expected.
Snow is also expected to fall in Central Otago and Queenstown tomorrow and is predicted to clear on Sunday.
