Three Dunedin singers are in the running for New Zealand's top singing prize; the Lexus Song Quest.
Tenor Alexander Wilson, baritone Kawiti Waetford and soprano Grace Park (all 21) were among the 12 singers selected for the semifinal in July.
All three study at the University of Otago and Mr Wilson is also an RSA Choral Scholar.
More than 50 singers vied for a place in the semifinal at auditions in Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch last week.
On July 5, six finalists will be chosen to perform with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at the Lexus Song Quest final at the Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington, on August 30. The judge is Welsh tenor Dennis O'Neill.
The winner receives a $15,000 study scholarship, $10,000 cash and a return economy international airfare.
