Shifting sand

Beach replenishment is to be carried out at Macandrew Bay in Dunedin next week.

Sand was washed or blown away from the beach area over time and work was done annually to replenish it, a Dunedin City Council spokesman said.

Parts of the beach are closed while the sand redistribution occurs.
