Police have made a second arrest in relation to an alleged drive-by shooting in central Dunedin.
Detective Sergeant Hayden Smale, of the organised crime unit, said Dunedin police had made another arrest in relation to the firearms incident, which happened in Thomas Burns St on March 10.
A shotgun was believed to have been fired at a car waiting in traffic from another vehicle.
On Thursday, officers conducted further searches.
As a result, the vehicle and the firearm believed to have been used in the incident had been recovered, Det Sgt Smale said.
A 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Police wanted to thank numerous members of the public for their
help.
Investigations were still ongoing, Det Sgt Smale said.
On Tuesday, a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident, after armed police searched a Highgate address.
He has been remanded in custody until April 4.
