Dunedin police are searching for a man who disappeared from Wakari Hospital and is considered dangerous.
In a statement, police said Vincent Clayton left the hospital about 2pm today and should not be approached.
Anyone with information was asked to call police immediately on 111.
Information could also be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police reminded the public that anyone who assisted a person who was avoiding police was "likely to come to police attention".
