Local scout groups presented Presbyterian Family Support's Family Works with a box of presents for underprivileged childen.
"Part of the scout programme is about caring and sharing and putting others before yourself," Pitcairn Scout Group leader Christine McConnell said.
"So, they started making Christmas bags for children who aren't members of their own families, and then they wanted to put presents in them."
Children from the Pitcairn and Tainui scout groups raised money for the presents with their pocket money and doing tasks around the house, kea Cailyn McConnell (8) said.
"I had to put the washing out and tidy my room and make my bed.
"We did it so the children who don't have parents will get presents on Christmas Day."
Family Works Otago team leader, Lana Morrison, said the presents would go to deserving children.
"We're delighted.
"We're inundated at this time of the year, so it's really nice of them to do this."
