Signs and barriers warn walkers of cliff dangers at Tunnel Beach.

The Department of Conservation completed the installation of a 120m barrier and 10 warning signs at the area early this month.

Doc recreation and historic ranger Richard Seed said another sign would be installed in front of the tunnel entrance in the next few months.

Mr Seed said the measures were in reaction to a noticeable increase in visitor numbers since 2017.

In early November, a German tourist was rescued after slipping down a cliff face at the attraction.
