Carisbrook will play host to a match on Friday in which not a single Otago player will be involved.
The Fijian Warriors side, a team made up of mainly Fiji-based players, will take on the Crusaders Knights, a side consisting of fringe Crusaders players and promising players from the Crusaders region.
The match will kick off at Carisbrook at 2pm, after the earthquake in Christchurch ruled out the use of AMI Stadium there.
The game was to be played as the curtain-raiser for the Super 15 match between the Crusaders and the Waratahs in Christchurch.
But with that game shifted to Nelson, the decision was made to shift the curtain-raiser to Carisbrook.
Logistically, it was easier to shift the game to Dunedin than Nelson, as the Fijian side had been playing in Australia and could fly straight from Brisbane to Dunedin.
The team arrived in Dunedin late yesterday afternoon and will train over the next couple of days before its game on Friday.
The team includes former Otago lock Seko Kalou, and his brother, Api Ratuniyarawa, who made his debut for the side in its first round of games in Australia. The Fijian Warriors is coached by Sam Domoni.
The first round of the Pacific Rugby Cup was played in Australia, with teams from Samoa, Tonga and the Fijian Warriors playing three games each against junior sides from New South Wales, Queensland and the Brumbies.
Fiji beat New South Wales, which included former Otago winger Ryan Shortland, and Queensland, but lost narrowly to the Brumbies outfit on Monday night. It is ahead of Samoa and Tonga in the competition.
The Crusaders team will be coached by former Canterbury hooker Matt Sexton, assisted by Tabai Matson and Brent Frew.
The Chiefs and the Hurricanes will also take part in the competition but the Highlanders are concentrating their efforts on their top side.
The other two games for the Crusaders Knights will be at Lincoln University next week.
After the completion of the New Zealand games, the three island nations will return to Fiji in the middle of the month to play against each other in the final round of the competition.
