A roundabout in the pipeline

Digging up the road surface at Main South Rd in Green Island yesterday are contractors who are replacing water and sewerage pipes.

A roundabout is to be installed at the intersection with Church St, as part of a road safety improvement project that also includes raising three pedestrian crossings in Main South Rd.

Work on the roundabout is expected to start in August and the broader programme has been designed to make the environment more suitable for a growing suburb.

The overall $2.4 million project is due to be finished in October.
