NZ Transport Agency coastal Otago maintenance contract manager Nic Rodger said the agency was repairing a section of State Highway 1 which was scoured away when the Waitati River flooded last month.
The emergency works, by SouthRoads and subcontracted to Downer, to reconstruct the eroded riverbank using rock armour, would take about two weeks, he said.
● The agency was aware of slips on State Highway 88 and was "investigating, prioritising, and treating them as part of the wider remedial works following the recent storm events", Mr Rodger said.
"Given the amount of rock and soil falling on to SH88, crews are regularly patrolling and cleaning drains and pavements."
