Rare horses from across the South Island were on show at the Otago Equine Expo at the Mosgiel A&P Showgrounds on Saturday.

Among them were Rocky Mountain horse Emily and  her owner Cornelia Stussig.

Ms Stussig brought Emily with her in October last year when  she and partner Marcus Rathsfeld moved from Munich to Christchurch.

As well as the horses, the event featured  dogs racing, a craft market and lots of food trucks.
