Quiz night raises over $1700 for Vanuatu

After Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu on March 13, Radius Fulton Care Centre residents (from left) Russel Taylor (85), John Smith (66), Ethel Gillies (86), June Clark (77), activities co-ordinator Beth Sizemore, Lloyd Martin (91), Jean Allen (77), and Ida Schmelz (93), decided to help.

''One of them came to me and said `what can we do?' We decided to do a quiz night,'' Ms Sizemore said. The quiz night raised ''over $1700. In fact, we're still getting money in,'' she said.

Some of the money was used to buy supplies for a Vanuatu school and they planned to send boxes of seeds.

''We're still waiting to hear back what other things we can send,'' she said. ''Things that will really make a difference.''
