The activities were part of a educational stall for the Wild Dunedin New Zealand Festival of Nature.
Children were helped to colour the birds and taught about conservation work in Dunedin's Town Belt.
Group chairwoman Stephanie Post (17), of St Hilda's Collegiate School, said the group worked to improve the beauty and understanding of the area.
It hosts planting days and is running a photography competition.
''We really want young people to grow up in nature and perhaps be more responsible.''
