A power pole caught fire in Abbotsford this morning, causing an outage for surrounding residents.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews were called to reports of the blaze in Teignmouth St about 7.40am today.
Crews worked to make the scene safe before leaving it in the hands of the power company, the spokesman said.
An Aurora update said the fire was caused by an high voltage fuse which faulted.
Parts of Teingmouth St and surrounding areas were left without power until it was restored about 10.15am, the update said.
