Possessions stolen from vehicles

Three vehicles were entered unlawfully in Dunedin during the past two days.

A ''locked and secured'' vehicle parked in Kenilworth St, Waverley, was entered after its quarter-light window was smashed, between 10pm on Wednesday and 8.30am yesterday, Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said.

A laptop was stolen from the backseat and the glove box had been ''rummaged'' through.

A red leather handbag, containing a wallet, cellphone and keys, was stolen from a vehicle in Signal Hill Rd, between 4pm and 4.30pm yesterday. Snr Sgt Waru said the car was unlocked.

In Falkirk St, Dalmore, a car's glovebox was searched, between 6.30pm on Wednesday and 10.30am yesterday, but nothing was taken, Snr Sgt Waru said.

There was no sign of forced entry but the owner reported the vehicle had been locked, she said.

There was no indication the incident was linked to the theft of performance outfits from a vehicle parked in Orbell St, Dalmore, on Wednesday night.

None of the missing outfits had been recovered yesterday, police said.

The investigation was continuing.
