The Australia country musician played in Mosgiel last year and is looking forward to playing for country music fans in the Taieri again this weekend.
''I can't wait to do the gig,'' she said.
''I was here last year and the audience was wonderful.''
The Taieri felt like her ''second home''.
''I was raised in Tassie [Tasmania] and it's pretty much the same. It's beautiful,'' she said.
The people in the Taieri was another reason she enjoyed playing shows in the area.
''They are very welcoming and the crowds are responsive and attentive.''
Nowadays, Burgess lives in Palm Beach, in Queensland's Gold Coast.
Her debut album Golden Cage was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, the spiritual home of country music.
''It was an amazing experience,'' she said.
Burgess said she was working on her follow-up album and being on the road provided ''loads of inspiration''.
About 20 songs were already in the works for the album and when she had written ''30-50 songs'' she would enter the studio and shortlist them.
She hoped to have completed the album by ''this time next year''.
• Adi Burgess will perform at the Hotel Taieri on Sunday, at 1.30pm.
