Six-year-old Phoebe Miles had a perfectly sweet day in Dunedin yesterday.
Phoebe, of Auckland, finished her treatment for a brain tumour last year and was granted a wish from the Make-A-Wish charity.
Mother Anna Miles said Phoebe had made ''great progress'' in her recovery after a ''rugged'' year and her hair had grown back after seven weeks of radiotherapy.
''She's a very gutsy, determined child.''
Phoebe's wish was to create a chocolate bar at the Cadbury Factory in Dunedin and she fulfilled it yesterday.
She was joined at Cadbury's byher mother, father Richard, sister Harriet (7) and brother George (10).
The trip was the first to the South Island for the family, Mrs Miles said.
Each family member created their own block of chocolate yesterday.
Phoebe's creation included popping candy, toffee and pebbles.
She was not keen on her father's combo of Black Forest jellies, coconut and almond.
''Mine's better,'' Phoebe said.
She loved chocolate for its ''sweetness'' and the day at the factory had been perfect, she said.
Mrs Miles said the family were staying in Dunedin for a week and planned to visit Moeraki today.
Make-A-Wish chief executive Carolyn MacDonell said the children's charity was grateful to those who donated their time or funds to help make wishes come true.
''Wishes are essential for sick children; wishes make such a difference.''
