A person was seriously injured when a car rolled near Port Chalmers yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said officers responded to reports of a rolled car in Borlases Rd, near the intersection with Blueskin Rd, at 10.45am. St John and Fire and Emergency New Zealand also attended.

One person was initially trapped but got themselves out of the car.

The road was closed off, diversions were put in place and a tow truck was called, the spokeswoman said.

A St John spokeswoman said an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and a first response unit attended the scene and treated two patients, one with serious injuries and one with minor injuries.
