A pedestrian has sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car in South Dunedin this morning.
Police are investigating after the woman was hit on a traffic light-controlled pedestrian crossing outside the Blind Foundation offices on Hillside Rd about 10.30am.
A St John spokesman said the woman had been taken to Dunedin Hospital's emergency department with serious injuries.
Two ambulances attended, he said.
A police spokeswoman said police were still at the scene.
"The serious crash unit have been notified and police are currently speaking to witnesses,'' she said.
