Christmas Day cruise ship passengers will still be able to experience the Taieri Gorge Railway, despite their late arrival at Dunedin.
Poor weather after the ship left Sydney on Wednesday means Dawn Princess will not arrive at its scheduled time of 7am tomorrow, but at noon instead.
Taieri Gorge Railway operations manager Grant Craig said the change in schedule had "created a bit of a nightmare" for staff.
However, the train would collect cruise ship passengers from Port Chalmers at 12.30pm.
