Paddleboarding pupils back safe

Three high school paddleboarders are safe  after being  blown off course across Otago Harbour  in an incident attended by police and ambulance  at the Vauxhall boat club, in Dunedin, yesterday afternoon.

A police spokesman said they responded to a report of three people in need of assistance in the water off Glendevon Point, near 
Vauxhall, at 12.10pm.

Ambulance and police responded, but shortly afterwards the trio made it to shore without assistance.    

A van from Waitaki Girls’ High School and another from Kaikorai Valley College were seen in the adjacent carpark.
