An Otago University student who is attracting international attention with his photography has captured the spectacular beauty of a South Island winter in a stunning time-lapse video.
The video includes footage of rugged mountains, tussock lakes, star-laden skies and iconic places such as Milford Sound and Dunedin's Tunnel Beach.
BA student Sam Deuchrass (21) says he picked up a camera for the first time in 2015, and has gained traction online, being noticed by companies such as National Geographic, Samsung, and Nikon. He says he also made the Top 5 of the Discovery Channel Intern competition.
Invercargill-born Sam says it was first serious go at creating a film, and ''definitely a first go'' at time-lapse photography,
