Emergency service crews attend a crash in Old Brighton Rd, Fairfield, yesterday after a car hit a power pole, bringing down lines and starting a small fire.
Firefighters then assisted with first aid until St John arrived, the spokesman said.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the 3.10pm crash brought down power lines, which ignited dry grass on the roadside.

A Hato Hone St John spokesman said one person was transported to Dunedin Hospital in a moderate condition.
