No time left to tap out

At least one well-known Dunedin brewery is preparing to impress festival-goers with its special concoctions and collaborations at this year’s Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival.

The festival returns to Forsyth Barr Stadium tomorrow and Saturday.

Emerson’s sales and marketing manager Greg Menzies said the festival was a "really important" chance for the company to showcase what it could do.

Emerson’s would have seven brews on tap at the event.

Otago University Students’ Association marketing and communications manager Ingrid Roding said the festival was sold out on Saturday and close to being sold out tomorrow.

"We’re expecting close to 12,000 people across the weekend."

There would be food and beverage vendors from all around New Zealand and two stages for entertainment.

"We’ve got the likes of Dave Dobbyn, so that for us is awesome."

There would be boutique tasting sessions for both tonic and gin, and rum, whisky and brandy tasting at the Otago Daily Times lounge.

This year the charity partners were The Nest Collective, StarJam and Fringe.

"Every year we choose different charities and at the end of the festival people can snip their wristbands and choose to donate whatever’s left on their wristband to a charity bucket on exit," Ms Roding said.
