Donated by the Friends of St Clair Salt Water Pool Trust, at a cost of about $12,000, the tables are welcome replacements for the existing furniture, which has begun to deteriorate.
Dunedin City Council community pools team leader Matt Austin said the salt-laden environment at St Clair meant that "nothing lasts out here, so everything has to be built tough''.
The last set of poolside tables had lasted 15 years, and some would be retained alongside the new ones.
"Having furniture scattered around the poolside helps to enhance the ambience of the pool, and helps to keep people here longer,'' Mr Austin said.
Trust chairman Doug Booth said the locals regarded "Salty'' as a valuable local resource and were keen to support it as much as possible.
"It is a wonderful asset for the city,'' he said.
The money for the furniture was partly drawn from funds left over from a major fundraiser to refurbish the pool in 2000.
The trust also regularly raised funds by selling cards and towels.
Mr Austin said about 10 lifeguards worked at St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool during the summer season, and they enjoyed the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings.
St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool will officially open for the summer season this Monday, October 1.
There will be a free barbecue on Saturday, October 6, from noon to 2pm.
