New health board's logo out today

The Southern District Health Board's logo will be revealed today before health staff at Dunedin Hospital.

On Saturday, the Otago and Southland DHBs officially merge to form the new district health board.

The logo was selected in a public competition which attracted 78 entries from 40 participants.

Board chief executive Brian Rousseau will today present the winner with an Apple iPhone donated by Telecom.

In a media release, Mr Rousseau said the boards were grateful to those who entered.

"We were very impressed by the standard of entries."

As well as DHB staff, the presentation would be attended by the competition judging panel, which included a design authority from Otago Polytechnic and iwi representatives.
