Neurosurgery board fees set

A meeting of the South Island Neurosurgery Service governance board would cost $2100 in meeting fees if all seven members claim their entitlement.

Chairman Prof Andrew Kaye, of Melbourne, is eligible for a $550 meeting fee, while board members Southern District Health Board chairman, Joe Butterfield, South Canterbury DHB chairman, Murray Cleverley, University of Otago representative, Prof Peter Crampton, independent neurosurgeon, Martin Hunn, Canterbury DHB chairman Bruce Matheson and consumer representative, David Russell, are each entitled to a $350 fee.

The National Health Board said the fees were set in accordance with the fees framework for members appointed to bodies in which the Crown has an interest.
