More than 160 members and former members from New Zealand and Australia were expected to attend a centennial function at the Carey's Bay Historic Hotel on Saturday, co-operative president Steve Little said yesterday.
An exhibition of photographs and paintings chronicling the 100-year history of the organisation is displayed in the hotel.
"We've taken all the Hoteres down to make way for the fishing photos," Mr Little said, joking, yesterday.
"These people are more interested in boats than Hoteres, because they've worked on them and had them built. We're still getting photos dropped off. Another big box turned up today."
The Commercial Fishermen's Federation paid its respects to the oldest fishermen's co-op in New Zealand by holding its annual meeting at Careys Bay earlier this month.
It was attended by Minister of Fisheries Phil Heatley.
The Port Chalmers Fishermen's Co-operative was established in 1909.
A feature on the centenary of the Port Chalmers Fishermen's Co-operative will be published in the magazine section of Saturday's Otago Daily Times.
