The event, held on the anniversary of the Christchurch mosque attacks, took place in the school’s peace garden.
Principal Brent Caldwell said last year’s year 6 pupils had made a peace mural and encouraged families to plant in the garden next to it.
"Together we live and learn.
"We can come together with our children and celebrate everything that is good."
Teacher Jenny Albrecht said the decision to combine a moment’s peace with the triathlon was the school’s way to show its support to those affected by the attacks.
More than 100 pupils participated in the triathlon afterwards.
