A fire at a flat in Wakari last night was started by a Molotov cocktail or similar device, police say.
Senior Sergeant Mel Aitken said the fire, at the entrance to the Shetland St flat, started after the device was thrown at the front door.
Station Officer Justin Wafer, of Roslyn Fire Station, said an occupant was helped from the flat before firefighters arrived.
The flat was in a block of apartments occupied by people with intellectual disabilities, he said.
A full scene investigation would be carried out today.
