Milton house seized in drug bust

Police have seized a house in Milton they described as a 'drug-dealing den' and two people face drug charges following operations yesterday and today.

A 52-year-old man faced 20 charges in the Dunedin District Court today, including selling and possessing cannabis for supply, selling Class B Drugs, and offering to sell the Class A controlled drug LSD.

He has been remanded in custody.

Police also seized two motorcycles, cannabis and cash from a Brockville address.

A separate investigation led by Milton Police has led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man today, charged with 20 cannabis dealing offences.

He will appear in the Dunedin District Court tomorrow.

As part of this arrest, Milton Police, working with the Christchurch Asset Recovery unit, seized a local property.

As part of today's arrest, CYF referrals have been made for two young children who were present in a house Police described as a 'drug-dealing den'.

Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Inglis said the seizure should stand as a warning to criminals that the penalities of drug crime go beyond court action.

"When Police discover assets have been obtained through profiting from criminal activity, those assets will be seized," he said.

"This week's arrests have stemmed from concerned members of the public calling on Police to get rid of drug dealing in our communities, and Police are determined to do so."
