Dunedin is shaping up as the place to be for sporting fans in the final weekend in February.
The Highlanders will kick off their Super 15 campaign with a big match, taking on the defending champions, the Chiefs, at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
This game will be played on February 22, a Friday night.
Then the following night, it is expected the Warriors and Broncos rugby league teams will run out on to the stadium pitch for a pre-season match.
Though it has yet to be confirmed - and stadium bosses would not reveal any details until everything was clinched - the two high-profile sides are expected to line up in a pre-season game.
It will be the first time the Warriors have played in Dunedin.
The Broncos are one of the glamour clubs of the NRL, although they failed to make the top four this season.
Highlanders general manager Roger Clark said with the University of Otago orientation week also in full swing then, it was going to be a big weekend for the stadium and the city.
The NRL is due to kick off in early March so both the Warriors and Broncos are likely to field close to full-strength teams.
A little more than a week later, the England cricket team will roll into town, along with its supporters.
The first test between the Blacks Caps and England is due to start at the University Oval on March 6.
