Police have arrested and charged a man in relation to a car stolen in Mulberry Ln, Kaikorai Valley, on Tuesday.
A Mazda Familia was stolen some time between 5pm and midnight, and the man was found with the vehicle in Gladstone Rd North, Mosgiel, within that time frame, Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said.
The keys to the car were left in the ignition before it was stolen, she said.
Snr Sgt Waru was "not ruling ... out'' a link to two other incidents in Kaikorai Valley within the same time frame.
A Honda CRV had its ignition barrel tampered with just round the corner in Bradford St while an unsuccessful attempt was made to enter a house in Peel St, she said.
"People need to take ... responsibility with locking up property,'' Snr Sgt Waru said.
Police were appealing for information from the public to do with any of these incidents.
The arrested man was charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and would appear in the Dunedin District Court at a later date.
