A 22-year-old man has been arrested for drink-driving after a mangled car was discovered crashed into a power pole in central Dunedin.
The car was found abandoned in Stuart St about 5.40am today near the intersection with Smith St, Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane said.
Police subsequently identified a 22-year-old Dunedin man as the driver and he was being processed for a excess breath alcohol.
Inquiries into the crash were ongoing and police expected to have more details later today.
