Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed a ram-raid in Dunedin this morning.

Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said Super Liquor in Kaikorai Valley Rd was ram-raided at 5.45am.

A witness heard "screeching" tyres and saw a white hatchback leaving the area.

The witness said she could not discount two vehicles being used during the incident.

Alcohol was taken, but the amount was unknown at this stage.

There was also an attempt to enter Thirsty Liquor Concord, in Main South Rd, about 3.45am.

CCTV footage of both incidents was available, she said.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything in those areas at those times.
