A large truck was stolen and dumped a short distance away in central Dunedin yesterday.
A contractor left the engine of the truck running when he visited a property in Bath St, a police spokeswoman said.
When he returned, the truck was gone and he reported it stolen to police at 6.20am.
The truck was found around the corner in Moray Pl.
The discovery of the truck was reported to police at 6.50am.
