Police are looking for a man who allegedly exposed himself to two schoolgirls on Thursday.
The man exposed himself to two intermediate school pupils on the corner of Victoria Rd and Moreau St shortly after 8.30am, Acting Senior Sergeant Chris George said.
He is described as a skinny Caucasian, in his late 20s to mid-30s, with a short spikey haircut. He was wearing a grey polar fleece, and white lace-up shoes with coloured squares.
He left in a four-door four-wheel-drive vehicle, which had tinted windows, and a spare tyre on its rear. Anyone with information was asked to contact police on 471-4800.
• A 38-year-old unemployed Dunedin man sparked a high-speed chase on Thursday night.
Police alleged the man left a service station in Cumberland St, and his erratic driving sparked a police patrol to pursue his vehicle when he failed to stop.
The car reached speeds of more than 100kmh in a 50kmh zone, and the driver was arrested at a Pine Hill Rd address at 7.15pm, Acting Snr Sgt George said.
He appeared in the Dunedin District Court yesterday on charges of reckless driving and failing to stop, and entered no plea.
He is remanded on bail to appear again on July 30.
• Police would like to hear from anyone who can identify a woman who burgled a Russell St home on Thursday afternoon.
A person heard the alleged offender, who took money and cigarettes from the property.
She is described as an overweight Maori, between 170cm and 180cm tall and wearing a dark hooded jacket, light blue jeans and skate shoes.
• A 19-year-old man will appear in the Dunedin District Court next week on a drink-driving charge.
The student was pulled over by police after he allegedly drove through a red light in the Octagon. He recorded a breath-alcohol level of 722mcg. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
