One person has been taken into custody following an incident with an imitation firearm near a central Dunedin supermarket.
A police spokesperson said officers were called to Moray Place about 9.35am today after a person was seen with a possible firearm.
The object was seized and the person arrested.
The incident happened near Countdown.
Charges were being considered, the spokesperson said.
