Access to fire hydrants in Dunedin's Crawford and Cumberland Sts, which were covered in asphalt last month, has been restored to normal.
The hydrants, which were 100mm below the road surface, were covered as a short-term solution because they created significant pothole effects. The hydrants have been raised to road level.
