Wakari School's about 250 pupils spent their last afternoon at school before the holidays hunting for the Easter bunny and baskets of chocolate.
Pupil Ella Cone (8) said she thought it was ''a bit weird'' to be searching for a rabbit during school time, but she enjoyed it nonetheless.
She liked chocolate and while she did not get any of her favoured creme eggs, it was nice to finish the school term on a sugar high.
Principal Chris Smith said the Easter bunny hunt had been a tradition at the school for 27 years.
Each pupil prepared a basket during the week which was then filled with chocolate and hidden, along with the Easter bunny.
Mr Smith said the identity of the bunny was a closely guarded secret.
He enjoyed ending the term with the hunt, as did the children.
''They love it,'' he said.
''The older kids, they have done it for six years, and they still love it.''
