Every rhinestone cowboy and coal miner's daughter in the county will be riding into Mosgiel for Silverpeaks Country Music Club's annual hoedown this weekend.
This year's hoedown will be bigger and better than before, hoedown publicity officer Frances Partridge says.
For the first time the event will be held at Wingatui Racecourse to cope with the expected increase in turnout.
''With the way talk is around the town and further afield, we are looking at getting maybe 300 people,'' Ms Partridge said.
''We started off small about four years ago and the thing's growing all the time, and that's why we have moved venue.''
From 7pm on Friday, country music fans would be able to enjoy the acts on offer, and take part in various events, Ms Partridge said.
An ''exciting'' line-up of musicians, including Reg McTaggart, Melissa Partridge and Nic Leeden, would keep the crowd entertained during the Saturday night dance.
''All of them are in demand, so we are very lucky to have secured them,'' she said. There would also be a chance for club members to show off their talents during Saturday's junior showcase and Sunday's senior showcase.
The event had previously attracted about 200 people and and the club was ''very pleased'' with the growing interest.
- The hoedown starts at 7pm on Friday, at 9.30am on Saturday, and at 10am on Sunday. A dance is held on Saturday night. Weekend passes cost $25 per adult.
