The house with the most noise complaints made against it last year is in South Dunedin, but the suburb of North Dunedin received the most complaints as a whole.
Dunedin City Council figures show one house in South Dunedin had 21 noise complaints made against it in 2011, making it the most complained-about house in the city.
But, as a whole, North Dunedin flats drew the most noise complaints, council environmental health team leader Ros Macgill said.
The most common complaint was about loud parties or music, with stereos the most commonly seized item.
In total, the Dunedin City Council received 3306 complaints about noise in the year to December 31.
Noise control officers dealt with 3095 of those complaints after hours and 211 during working hours.
Property - mainly stereos - was seized at 39 properties, an action which required a police officer to attend.
Some of the more unusual complaints were about roosters and buskers, with noise from Port Otago, pubs, construction sites and house alarms also bugging people enough to lay a complaint.
