Otago lock Joe Latta and the Ranfurly Shield are swamped by pupils from Big Rock Primary School in Brighton yesterday.
Latta and fellow players Mitchell Scott and Matt Whaanga visited the school with the shield after the Otago Rugby Football Union heard pupils were having a day devoted to blue and gold, the team colours.
The players faced curly questions from the children, including identifying the hardest team they had played.
Latta said that was Tasman. "They gave us a bit of a walloping," he said.
