Santa, also known as Mike Waddell, says all he wants for Christmas is the new Dunedin hospital to be built to its specifications as promised.
Mr Waddell drove Cliff the Ambulance to Wellington to campaign for the new hospital.
"We need to acknowledge there is a health crisis throughout the country, and we can't be playing off regions against one another," he said.

But Mr Waddell said if the government was to renege on its promise it would not be a merry Christmas for the South.
