Police are looking for what could be Dunedin's best-groomed offenders, who may be sporting straightened and blow-dried hair, after the determined burglary of a city hair-care outlet.
The fashion-conscious criminals went to the trouble of removing intact a shop-front window at the Hair Care Market, in Albion Pl, late on Friday night or early Saturday.
"Numerous hair products, straighteners and driers" were taken, Acting Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson said.
Acting Snr Sgt Thomson said the offenders would have to have used building tools of some sort to remove the glass, which was left nearby.
He did not want to specify the cost of the goods stolen, but "a lot" of products were taken, and they would have been worth well over $1000.
The burglary, he agreed, was unusual.
Police were keen to hear from anybody who saw unusual activity on the lane, which runs between George and Great King Sts, late Friday or early Saturday.
