Gas leak fixed in Lower Stuart St

Genesis says it has fixed a small leak after a strong smell of gas in central Dunedin this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said two crews from Willowbank and Dunedin City stations were sent to Lower Stuart St after being notified about 8.50am.

Buildings were checked and the gas company informed.

A Genesis spokesman said a small leak was identified and supply was isolated while it was fixed.

A new regulator was installed to resolve the problem about 9.30am.

No customers were affected, he said.
