A feast of film trailers and short films will be presented by Bayfield High School Media Studies students next Thursday.
The screening, which will run from 7pm to 9pm, will be an opportunity for the Year 12 and 13 students to showcase their work in public.
The film trailers presented are the work of the last two years' Year 12 classes. The short films have been produced by the 2009 Year 13 class. In total about 16 of their films will be screened.
A further attraction will be the screening of two 48 Film Festival films made by Bayfield students.
In addition, two promotional videos for Bayfield High School, devised and produced by a Year 9 class, will be presented.
The evening will also be an opportunity for the Year 11 Catering class to prepare a finger food supper for a real event, and in doing so, meet the requirements an Achievement Standard which will count towards NCEA Level 1.
Media Studies is an area of growing interest at Bayfield High School. The school produces its own community newspaper, The Bayleaf, which is published once per term and distributed to households in the Andersons Bay area. Two students, Max Buxton (Year 13) and Louise Chandler (Year 12) have also had the opportunity to work as radio cadets for The Edge this year.
