Crews have extinguished a fire at a house in the Dunedin suburb of Concord.
Firefighters are finishing up after battling a blaze in Mulford St after the fire was reported at 8.37am today, a Fire Service spokesman said.
The fire was reported initially as a laundry fire but the cause of the blaze was unclear, the spokesman said.
Appliances from Lookout Point and St Kilda responded to the blaze and called for back-up after seeing the fire from a distance, he said.
Smoke shrouded the surrounding suburb.
The house was "well involved'' when firefighters arrived, the spokesman said.
All people are accounted for.
