Contractors work on the finishing touches on the first stage of flood protection and beautification work on the Water of Leith, which is now expected to be finished next month.

A report to be tabled at Otago Regional Council's engineering and hazards committee tomorrow said ''further delays'' meant work, originally scheduled for completion in mid-March, was expected to be finished by next month. Part of the reason for delays was a change in piling methodology for the new Clyde St bridge abutment walls.
